if it takes a diamond to cut another diamond,how was the first diamond ever cut?
i mean,u need another diamond to cut another,so how did they cut the first one? Laser?
Diamonds are not ‘cut’ like with a (diamond?) knife. Diamond is a hard brittle crystal that has preferred cleavage planes. The diamond is struck with a hard tool and separates into two pieces forming flat planes or facets. It takes an expert to bring out the correct facets to reflect light within and without. A wrong blow, and the diamond will turn to diamond dust.
